I’ve had a few lessons recently with students + clients who find emailing in English at times tricky. Here’s a worksheet with some phrases often used in typical everyday business situations.
I’ve had a few students who either translate phrases from Czech, which doesn’t always sound natural, or they write in a brief manner that might come across as less friendly or even abrupt in English. This is when it helps knowing some phrases to use in your emails, as they help create a positive tone and also provide a ‘skeleton’ to write a more organised email.
This worksheet is designed for students at B2 level (Upper-intermediate), especially those taking the BEC Vantage Exam. A strong intermediate learner would also be able to do this.

Something’s come up
Follow up: the ideal way to follow up this worksheet is to practise the phrases by writing an email for homework (I’ll send a question to my own students ; ).
